Ok so I have been teasing you with the prospect of some epic news, a life change of which I had to bide my time before sharing on this blog.  Not because anything was a secret, but just because I didn’t want to spill the beans until everything was lined up legally, commitments in writing, […]

DIY oversized coat

A few weeks ago while cleaning out my closet I found my pair of leather arm warmers that were my goto favorite a couple of years ago.  I decide to dust them off and make a new coat especially for the occasion, using this Italian wool/cashmere coating from moodfabrics.com.  This coating comes in 10 different colors, it’s medium to heavy weight and perfect for winter.  I lined this coat using a poly blend lining I purchased from moodfabrics.com last year.  Check out their selection of linings here.

The pattern used for this coat was this vintage Vogue 5089

This time I went with foam cups, though I’ve used cardboard tubes, potato chip cans, and even blocks of wood!  Pssst…if you have extra plastic spoons, you might want to try…
