Sew Your Own Knockout Dress - online workshop from Tilly and the Buttons

Today I thought I'd tell you a little bit more about our latest online workshop - Sew Your Own Knockout Dress - and give you a peek inside the members-only workshop site.

I've spent a lot of time developing each of our five sewing workshops to ensure they're clear, well-structured, user-friendly and jam-packed full of learning points. In fact, I've been designing workshops professionally for over a decade and it's my favourite job in the world!

Here's the trailer...

So what do you get when you sign up to one of our online workshops?

As soon as you've signed up, you get access to the online classroom, which is exclusively for members. You'll also set up a username and password which allows you to come back to the site whenever you like, as many times as you like.

The first page features a short video in which I introduce you to the workshop and share some tips on how to get the most out of the class. Then you can dive straight in to the lessons!

The contents page gives you an overview of all the lessons. Sew Your Own Knockout Dress includes 15 lessons - from cutting and fitting the dress, through sewing perfectly matched seams and shaping with darts, to setting in sleeves, inserting an invisible zip, creating a striking flat collar, creating a kick pleat... and more!

The workshop is broken down into bitesize, manageable chunks - so you can fit the lessons in around the rest of your life. Perhaps you'd like to take the workshop over ten evenings... alternatively you can binge-watch the entire course in a day - it's up to you!

The lessons include 13 videos, written tuition, step-by-step photos and checklists. The videos are professionally produced and edited, and allow you to watch the sewing in action up close. You can pause and rewind the videos as many times as you like in case you didn't get something first time - so so helpful!

Each video is between 3 and 35 minutes in length - wherever possible, we've edited them down to show you what you need to know without boring you by making you sit through me trimming an entire seam, for example! I know you're busy, and you just want to get on and sew already - and putting the techniques into practice as soon as you've watched the lesson is the best way to learn :)

You can access the workshop anytime you like, as many times as you like, with no deadlines - so choose the best time for you, and get sewing!

If you'd like to take the class, sign up to Sew Your Own Knockout Dress.
