Paige’s Mini Capsule Reveal

May 25, 2017   /   byPaige  / Categories :  Feeds

I’m terrible at following through on long-term sewing challenges, so I’m pretty excited to say that I actually completed my mini capsule! The loose theme I planned my mini capsule around is what I want to wear this summer, exciting I know. But I’ve got a few lake trips planned, tons of porch and deck hangouts and lots of walks to our community pool. Casual, comfortable, and versatile are all things I strived for.

I sewed up 7 pieces. 3 tops (Patterns for Pirates Favorite Tee, Patterns for Pirates Free Spirit Tank, Made for Mermaids Mama Ava), 1 layering piece (Patterns for Pirates Cocoon Cardigan), and 3 bottoms (Made for Mermaids Mama Chloe, Patterns for Pirates Peg Legs, Patterns for Pirates Peg Legs Bell Bottom Hack). All knits, all easy to wear and perfect for my summer plans. I threw together the simplest combinations below. I also have all the options from hacking my two coordinating pieces.

I totally get that it might be too much tie dye for some, but I really love the print! I stuck pretty neutral color-wise with my other pieces, so I could mix and match my bold tie dye fabric. I picked fabrics I knew would pack down well and would stay mostly wrinkle free. These all easily fit inside of one of my compression packing cubes. Which leaves me tons of room for accessories, bathing suits, and a few retail bought denim pieces. I also grabbed some quick photos of some of my favorite outfits. I had plans to have a beautiful outdoor photo shoot- but alas, this midwestern spring has been more stormy than any I can remember.

Winter Lodo

Being a person who sometimes gets sucked onto the latest pattern bandwagon, when the True Bias Lodo dress came out, I thought that maybe I’d give it a try.  Even though it was winter here in Australia.  Hey, how about I sewed a winter version to wear as a layering piece?
