Style Arc Lux coat

This is a recent “woo hoo” garment – the Style Arc Lux coat. I wish that I had realised the collar wasn’t sitting quite right on one side in these photos!  My photographer is generally quick to point out those sorts of things, but she missed it this time.  Here is how it usually looks:… Continue reading Style Arc Lux coat

Style Arc Cher dress

Style Arc’s Cher dress was offered as a freebie a couple of months ago.  I hesitated, because I generally don’t like high tight necklines, but threw caution to the wind and gave it a go anyway. I like it! I like it a great deal! The key to getting this dress to work is mostly… Continue reading Style Arc Cher dress

Book Review: Handmade Bags in Natural Fabrics

Handmade Bags in Natural Fabrics is another wonderful title from Tuttle Publishing that I had the pleasure of reviewing. This book has twenty-five unique patterns with sixty variations with ideas for embellishments, appliqué, and more. The instructions and diagrams are very clear, so a beginner would have no problem creating the bags in this book. I would recommend to everyone, at all sewing skill levels.
My son was in need of a new bag to carry his books in, so I made him the large sized shoulder bag, with a short strap, so he could hold it in his hand.
Using some IKEA fabric I had in my stash, here is the finished result:

He loves it!

Head over to Tuttle Publishing for more information on where you can purchase this fantastic book!
