Nova Tour 3: Kim, Grace, and Eileen

June 19, 2017   /   bystraightgrainblog@gmail.com  / Categories :  Feeds

Happy Monday everyone! Today is the start of week 3 of the Nova Blog Tour, and this week we have three fabulous lady bosses showing off their Nova’s.

Grace is the owner of Maker Mountain Fabrics, a California-based webshop which sells a beautiful selection of fabrics. If you like brands like Cotton + Steel, nani IRO, and Art Gallery Fabrics, you’ll love Grace’s shop. Grace is also a superkind lady and talented seamstress, as her stunning Nova dress illustates. I just love the whimsical C+S fabric she picked. Her daughter instantly dubbed her new garment “the quack quack dress” – how sweet is that? Make sure to visit Grace’s blog to see more pictures, or follow her on Instagram.

Eileen also owns a fabric store, but Elizabeth Little is more than just that. Eileen doesn’t just sell beautiful fabrics from brands like Liberty of London (Oooh!) and nani IRO (Aaah!) – she also sells stylish garments made from them. I’m especially in love with her qipao’s (duh). And just like Grace, Eileen turned out to be a super nice, very talented seamstress. I’m so happy to have her on this tour – her Nova is simply perfection! Make sure to check her blog to see more pictures of her Nova (and her incredibly cute daughter), or follow her on Instagram.

And then we go back to the US, and more specifically to Kim from Better Dressed Child. Her Instagram is one of my favorites. Not just because of Kim’s beautiful creations, but also because of her photography. Just like Grace and Eileen, Kim owns her own business, as she sells her creations online. I was thrilled when Kim signed up to be a tour participant, and even more thrilled when I saw her stunning Nova. Not only did she create a vintage look by making an ultra short version and matching it up with the cutest shoes and socks; Kim also added something which I have been planning for a long time but didn’t get round to yet: added beads to the honeycomb pleats! Check out the detailed pictures on her blog, or follow her on Instagram here.

Many thanks to Kim, Eileen, and Grace the beautiful Nova’s, and to Tuttle Publishers, who are sponsoring this week’s give-away (check my Instagram on Tuesday to win 7 Japanese sewing books!).

You can buy the Nova pattern in my shop, in English and Dutch, and in an electronic and a paper version.
