The Summer of Basics Make-Along is Here!

June 1, 2017   /   byJen  / Categories :  Feeds

I mentioned a few posts back that our friend and Stowe Bag collaborator, Karen of Fringe Supply Co was cooking up something fun this summer called the Summer of Basics Make-Along. Well it’s June 1st so that means it all starts today!

The premise of the Summer of Basics is to fortify our wardrobes together in a fun atmosphere with pieces that will get a ton of wear. We’ll each be making 3 basics, one for each month of the Make-Along. How you space them out throughout the months is totally up to you, one a month or all at once, doesn’t matter.

The concept of “basics” is also totally up to you and your personal wardrobe. A basic could be a tee shirt or a blazer, it all depends on your lifestyle. And they don’t all need to be sewn, of course. Knitting, crochet, sewing, all of it is welcome! We’ve got a ton of patterns that would fit perfectly into the theme of the summer, since elevated basics is sort of our thing here 😉

If that’s not all fun enough, Karen partnered with us, Fancy Tiger Crafts, and Kelbourne Woolens to offer some great prizes. We’ll be offering up a $100 gift card to our shop for the person with the best combo outfit – that means you make 2-3 pieces that play well together. You’ll need to use the hashtags #summerofbasics and #sob17bestcombo on Instagram to enter.

I’ll be back Monday with my Summer of Basics plans, but in the meantime get planning and be sure to click over to Karen’s post for the rest of the details and all the prize info! Can’t wait to make-along with you all!!
