winged visitors

Happy July everyone, and happy 4th of July to my American visitors ! Summer holidays have begun, my eldest turned 15 on June 24th, and took his very first exams on the 29th & 30th. I hope your summer (or winter) holidays are underway as well !

My buddleias have been hosting a bunch of winged visitors, and I wanted to share some photos of them here. I hope you’ll like them.

I love how their wings seem to have been painted or drawn with pastels … The one above is an Iphiclides podalirius (aka a scarce swallowtail or Flambé en français), with a worn out tail.

And this one is a Leminitis reducta (aka Southern white admiral or Sylvain azuré en français) Aren’t they both gorgeous ?!

I hope this little post finds you happy & healthy. I’m considering posting old posts (from the same time but years ago) from past blogs of mine. Would you like it ?

Be well.

kiss-me-quick

That’s a pretty funny title for a post dedicated to a pretty lovely flower I have decided to include in our brand new flower bed !

“Kiss-me-quick” actually are Centranthus ruber (Valériane rouge en français), a plant that is native of the Mediterranean region, and which can grow from walls, therefore pretty much everywhere. I love their height, their structure & their color. I hope they’ll prosper in our garden !

I wish you all a delightful weekend ahead ! We’ll be voting for our new president here in France.
